End of the year teacher gift with Momenta...

Well, today is bittersweet for me. It is my youngest's last day of grade school. She will entering the world of junior high in the fall. As much as I am glad to see the school year end...I am just as sad that it is ending too. In my last post I showed you this wonderful gift box that I made. I told you I made them to hold cards, envelopes, a pen and stamps for the end of the year teacher gifts. Although I just showed you one I thought I would show you another one that went off today for one of my daughter's teachers. I really wanted to show you this one and how fun you can make these. I made this one with Momenta cardstock, patterned paper and fun embellishments. I am really hitting myself in the head, I completely forgot to take pictures of the cards...sad to say you would have really liked them as they coordinated with the outside of the box.

A couple of Ruby Rock-It/Bella! projects...

Hey everyone! Today I am going to show you a few projects I did using a couple of older Bella!/Ruby Rock-It lines. The first one is a fun card I made using the Paper Boy line. This line is perfect for all those fun boy photos you have or use it like I did and make a fun card!
The second project I did was this clever gift box. It was so easy and fun to make I actually made 4 more for end of school year gifts for my daughter's teachers. I made so coordinating cards wrapped them up with a nice bow, some stamps and a pen and sent them on their way. This one I used the Bella! Keepsake line. The box was the perfect size to hold the mini album that I made for my mom on Mother's Day. I hope you enjoy this as much as she did and thanks for stopping by.

In case ya missed it before...here it is agian!

Last weekend we had a blog hop with the Ruby Rock-It team. I made a tri-shutter card for my mom. I got such a wonderful response on the card I thought I would make another and put up some instructions on how to make one of your own. I have put this tutorial up before but it is so far back I figured it wouldn't hurt to put it up again...that way in case you missed it before you don't have to go searching. For my card I used Ruby Rock-It Sugar Candy Cardstock, the Ruby Rock-It Fundamentals Vellum and some lovely Ruby Rock-It/Bella Bling!
So now let's get started on that card...You will need 1 piece of cardstock measuring 5 1/2 x 12. Once you have that cut...on the 12 inch side you are going to score at 2-4-8-10 inches.
Now, set your cardstock on the 5 1/2 inch side and measure 1 1/4 inch. Carefully cut from the 2 inch mark to the 10 inch mark. Turn the paper over and repeat.
Now fold at the score lines but here's the "key" part. You are going to push the first valley fold outward (only in the center) and the second mountain fold inward. Ta-da! A tri-shutter card base. Close the card and use a bone folder to make the creases crisp. Embellish to your liking.

We R Memory Keepers-Baby Mine...

We R Memory Keepers Baby Mine collection isn't just for those cute little baby pictures you have and I have a layout here showing you just how versatile this collection really is! While digging through some old photos that I found in a box, I came across these cute photos of my daughter when she was I think 2 or 3 years old. The bright pinks and greens were perfect. I also got out my Lucky 8 punch...which I might add is AWESOME!!! This is a definite must have, 8 cuts and you have a wonderful 12x12 die cut. I used both the inner and outer cut on mine and then cut it in half. I also did a little bit of stitching with the Sew Easy and some Bakers Twine to add a little bit of detail. This tool really lives up to it's name. I have always been afraid to stitch on my layouts...not anymore. I simply chose the head I wanted, ran it across my paper and like magic I had the perfect template to do my sewing. I did my stitching on some paper doilies...just the right touch to make these stand out. I hope you can see the possibilities this line has and hope you enjoy what I have have done with it.
